Phase Two

So........
Phase two of the Plan involves accomplishing several things.
First and foremost, in order to finance our transition to snowbird status, we have to sell our home.
Selling a home should not be such a daunting task, but in our case, the process of getting the home ready for sale is where the challenge lies.
We have lived in our home for about eighteen years, which is without doubt the longest period of time Kevin has resided in one place.
When we first met and moved in together I knew he had a tendency to hold on to his possessions, but had no grasp of just how that might impact our future.
I am not going to say that Kevin is a hoarder, but he is as close as you can get without crossing that line.
Not only does he hold on to everything, but he can't resist bringing home pretty much anything that could possibly have a use "down the line".

Needless to say, I sincerely believe it will require several dumpsters to clear out all of his accumulations which have filled the garage, cellar, several storage sheds, and the back two rooms of the house- to the point of overflowing.  I can't tell you how many times we have had to purchase a duplicate of something because there was little or no hope of finding the one we already have.
To be fair, I have to admit that my craft room is very cluttered as well, and that is all my own doing.  I have an interest in so many different crafts that the materials involved take up more space than I can comfortably accommodate in one small room.  I will need to pare down on what I really 'need'.

The house sits on a lot that is nearly four acres, so would be a great location for anyone who wants some breathing room  between themselves and the neighbors.  Additionally, there is a cow field behind the property, enhancing the privacy.

Once we do sell the house, we will need to find a suitable property in a more southerly location.
We know we like both North and South Carolina, and we prefer a spot in a 55 and older community.  A mobile home community would be ideal, based on the relatively low cost and the size of the home.
Our spot at Brennan Beach is only about 700 square feet, and affords us sufficient room, is small enough to be easy to clean, and at the same time not spacious enough to provide much room for "accumulation."
We have two beagles who are part of our family, so we will require our new home be in a pet friendly community as well.
It is a challenge to house shop long distance, even with the internet, and of course we will need to physically see the place before making a final decision.
All of this is yet to be accomplished.
Only time will tell.
